(The Epoch Times)—U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, in one of her first acts in office, directed officials on Feb. 5 to review the prosecution of President Donald Trump, as well as the prosecutions of people allegedly involved in the Jan. 6, 2021, breach of the U.S. Capitol.
Shortly after being sworn into office, Bondi established in a memorandum what she called a Weaponization Working Group. She said the working group would examine what she described as the weaponization of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), which she now leads, by former special counsel Jack Smith and his team as they investigated and later brought charges against Trump.
Smith stepped down before Trump became president. The DOJ, under acting control, recently fired members of his team.
The group will review actions taken during the previous administration that appear to have been “designed to achieve political objectives or other improper aims rather than pursuing justice or legitimate governmental objectives,” Bondi wrote.
The group will review actions taken during the previous administration that appear to have been “designed to achieve political objectives or other improper aims rather than pursuing justice or legitimate governmental objectives,” Bondi wrote.
The group’s review will cover how state and local officials cooperated with Smith’s team, “improper investigative tactics and unethical prosecutions” related to the Jan. 6 prosecutions, the prosecutions of people charged for protesting at or near abortion clinics, and retaliation against whistleblowers, according to the memo.
Bondi quoted Trump, who in a Jan. 20 executive order said that the “prior administration and allies throughout the country engaged in an unprecedented, third-world weaponization of prosecutorial power to upend the democratic process.”
The order said it is U.S. policy to identify and take action to correct past misconduct by the federal government related to the weaponization of law enforcement and the intelligence community and directed the attorney general to review the activities of all departments that exercise civil or criminal enforcement authority, including the DOJ, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and the Federal Trade Commission.
“The vicious, violent, and unfair weaponization of the Justice Department and our government will end,” Trump said in his inaugural address on Jan. 20.
Smith’s team charged Trump in two cases, one for allegedly mishandling classified documents after Trump left office in 2021 and one that accused the president of illegally interfering with the Jan. 20, 2021, certification of electoral votes.
Trump pleaded not guilty in both cases.
Trump said at Bondi’s swearing-in ceremony that she would “restore fair, equal, and impartial justice and … the constitutional rule of law in America.”
He added later: “I know I’m supposed to say she’s going to be totally impartial with respect to Democrats, and I think she will be as impartial as a person can be. I’m not sure if there’s a possibility of totally, but she’s going to be as total as you can get.”
Bondi, Florida’s former attorney general, told Trump, “I will make you proud and I will make this country proud. I will restore integrity to the Justice Department and I will fight violent crime throughout this country and throughout this world, and make America safe again.”
The U.S. Senate this week confirmed Bondi in a 54-46 vote, with Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) joining Republicans in voting for the nominee.
Bondi said in the new memo that the weaponization group would be one step “to restore integrity and credibility with the public that we are charged with protecting, and to ensure that the Department’s personnel are ready and willing to faithfully implement the policy agenda of the duly elected President of the United States.”
She said that employees who “acted with a righteous spirit and just intentions” have no cause for concern.
A similar message was delivered earlier Wednesday to FBI employees, who are being subject to a review of the Jan. 6 cases.
The DOJ asked the FBI for information on thousands of bureau workers who took part in the investigations and the FBI has handed over their employee numbers and other details.
Bove said the only workers who should be concerned “are those who acted with corrupt or partisan intent.”
Three Reasons a Coffee Gift Set From This Christian Company Is Perfect for Christmas
When you’re searching for a Christmas gift that’s meaningful, useful, and rooted in faith, you don’t want to settle for anything generic. This season is filled with noise — mass-produced products, last-minute picks, and trends that fade as quickly as they appear. But one gift stands apart because it blends genuine quality with a message that matters: a coffee gift set from Promised Grounds Coffee.
This small Christian-owned company has become a favorite among believers who want to support faith-driven businesses while giving friends and family something they’ll actually enjoy. Here are three reasons a Promised Grounds Coffee gift set may be the most thoughtful and impactful present you give this year.
1. It’s Truly Delicious Coffee
Too many “gift-worthy” coffees look beautiful in the package but disappoint when the cup is poured. Promised Grounds takes the opposite approach — exceptional taste first, thoughtful presentation second.
Their beans are sourced with care, roasted in small batches, and crafted to bring out a rich, smooth flavor profile that appeals to both casual drinkers and true coffee lovers. Whether someone enjoys bold, dark roasts or lighter, more delicate blends, every sip reflects quality that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the biggest specialty brands.
Simply put: this coffee is good. Really good. Some say it’s absolutely fantastic. If you want a gift that won’t be re-gifted, ignored, or shoved in a cabinet, this is it.
2. It Spreads the Word While Serving a Real Purpose
There are many Christian gifts that are meaningful… but not exactly practical. There are also useful gifts that have nothing to do with faith. Promised Grounds Coffee bridges both worlds beautifully.
Each gift set delivers an encouraging, faith-centered message through its packaging and presentation — a simple but powerful reminder of God’s goodness during the Christmas season. The cups are especially popular and serve as a daily reminder of the blessings from our Lord. At the same time, the product itself is something people will actually use and appreciate every single day.
It’s a gift that uplifts the spirit and fills the mug. A gift that points loved ones toward Scripture while still being part of the normal rhythm of life. And in a culture that increasingly pushes faith to the margins, giving a gift that quietly but confidently honors Christ can make a deeper impact than you might expect.
3. It’s Affordable, Valuable, and Elegantly Presented
Many people want to give something meaningful without breaking their Christmas budget. Promised Grounds Coffee strikes that perfect balance — the sets look and feel premium, but the price remains accessible.
The packaging is classy, clean, and gift-ready, making it ideal for:
- Family members of all ages
- Co-workers or employees
- Church friends or small-group leaders
- Hosts, neighbors, and last-minute gift needs
It’s the kind of gift that feels more expensive than it is — and more thoughtful than most of what you’ll find on store shelves.
The Perfect Blend of Faith, Flavor, and Christmas Cheer
A coffee gift set from Promised Grounds Coffee checks every box: a gift that tastes amazing, conveys your faith, supports a Christian business, and brings daily enjoyment to the person who receives it. In a season when so many gifts are forgotten, this one stands out for all the right reasons.
If you want a Christmas present that reflects your values and delivers genuine joy, Promised Grounds Coffee is the perfect place to start.
